/ / WHAT IS A BD-SERIES DROID?
BD units were companion droids designed to assist with operations in remote and dangerous locations across the galaxy; programmed to be the ideal assistant to researchers or explorers operating alone in the field, they were designed to traverse all types of terrain.A notable BD unit was BD-1 who accompanied Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis in 14 BBY. Another BD unit was TA-418, who assisted Doctor Eustacia Okka during the Imperial Era. Lastly BD-72 was another BD unit who was under the ownership of Peli Motto and helped Din Djarin complete his restoration of the N1 Starfighter.
